Handwriting

Our one-to-one handwriting tutoring is available for students of any age or skill-level. While occupational therapy supports the physical and kinetic aspects of handwriting, the OG approach supports the child’s written expression with handwriting practice in print and cursive and gives meaning and context to the words they write.

Students with dysgraphia taking a long time to complete handwriting tasks (within the typical OG class) would find this session beneficial for improving their handwriting and encoding skills.

Our OG lessons focus on developing these skills:

  • Spelling
  • Writing mechanics, composition and grammar
  • Handwriting

Phonics Check

Our Phonics Check is a short assessment to ascertain if a child can decode at an appropriate age level. It will also benchmark a child’s starting point for reading instruction.
